“The festival aims to promote short film cinema while encouraging young talents in this field,” said Mohammad Afarideh.
A total of 61 films from 32 countries will be competing in the festival, which will be held in the cities of Ahwaz, Zahedan, Zanjan, and Semnan simultaneously.
Farshad Fereshteh-Hekmat, Rober Safarian, Vahid Musa’ian, Hamid Jamdar, and Mahdi Forudgahi were the members of the selection board of the festival.
The jury members of the international competition section of the festival are writer and film critic Brad Thompson, Danish filmmaker Mitzi Goldman, the director of the Molodist International Film Festival of Ukraine, Andrei Khalpakhchi, and Iranian filmmaker Masud Ja’fari Jozani.
Manuchehr Tayyab, Mojtaba Ra’i, Akbar Nabavi, Mohammadreza Sokut, and Soheila Najm will judge the national section.
The festival will also be holding retrospectives of the work of filmmaker Mohsen Amir-Yusefi and cameraman Bayram Fazli. In addition, the organizers plan to hold special programs to screen movies by Danish filmmakers and filmmakers from Muslim countries of the Middle East.
The festival ends on November 22.
